(8/2001) 2001 Kaiser Family Reunion Most of the surviving upper generation at the 2001 reunion. Aunt Cleo passed away in October 2001 and Grandma (Naomi Ness) on January 4, 2001. Grandpa Ness had died in September 2000. Uncle Owen isn't in this picture though he was there. |
(8/2001) Maurice Kaiser holds an accordian supposedly used by my Great-Great Grandfather Henry F. Kaiser. FYI, Janet Kaiser's descendants have another one that they were told was the one he used. Interesting Family History Tidbit: Henry F. Kaiser served in the US civil war and became blind afterwards. He went through a lengthy process of trying to qualify for disability pension benefits, claiming that the blindness was a result of his service. He was denied the benefits, but there is now a great deal of info about HFK and his family in the National Archive as a result of the application process. Henry played an accordian on the street at times after he became blind and his son Harry Albert (my Great-Grandfather) would go along to guide him and to hold the cup. This is supposedly that accordian. |
