World Vision
- World Vision is one of the best-known and most effective organizations for helping the poor and oppressed world-wide. Many people know them for their child sponsorship programs. "Each year World Vision brings practical help, human dignity, spiritual guidance, and the promise of a brighter future to the lives of approximately 50 million people, through at least 4,300 programs in more than 100 nations." (We sponsor a child in Mexico City. Please consider it for your family or youth group.) If you are outside the US, see http://www.wvi.org/

Lotsa Helping Hands
- "What can I do to help? Lotsa Helping Hands is a simple, immediate way for friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors to assist loved ones in need. It's an easy-to-use, private group calendar, specifically designed for organizing helpers, where everyone can pitch in with meals delivery, rides, and other tasks necessary for life to run smoothly during a crisis." (What a great idea! This must have been invented by a woman - I've watched my wife & her friends organize this sort of thing many times, and it's obvious women know instinctively how to take care of people far better than men do.)

"I love you" in various languages

Christian Internet Code of Ethics
- "The Christian Internet Code of Ethics is an effort by some Christians to declare boundaries they set for themselves on the Internet. It is not a set of rules, but a statement of values." Good advice/personal guides to consider.
As a Christian who is active on the internet, I hold myself to certain standards of conduct. They are:
* I guard my online relationships
* I am careful to visit websites that do not compromise my life in Christ
* I take care that my written communications reflect Christ in my life
* I guard my time to assure that my time online is kept in proper balance with the rest of my life

Mail.com
- Since Iname first began, I've been a fan of email redirectors. You sign up for an redirector email address and tell it your current *real* mailbox location (me@myCurrentISP.com). Then you tell everyone the redirector address (me@mail.com). If your *real* address changes, you don't have to notify everyone, just change the redirect/forwarding address. Mail.com is the my current favorite one for this, and offers the option of web-based email access to a mailbox there or forwarding to your POP3 mailbox. Highly Recommended. 2002 Update: mail.com has started charging for the forwarding feature, though not much.
