Wallace "Wally" Kaiser, 92, of 5638 Wayne Road, Chambersburg, died at 10:20 P.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2004 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 20, 1911 near Fayetteville, PA he was the son of the late Harry A. and Emma May (Wingerd) Kaiser. He lived in Fayetteville until age 6, when he moved to Cumberland County for two years and then moved to Guilford Township. Mr. Kaiser attended Duffield School. He and his wife, the late Lula V. (Garvin) Kaiser were married on July 21, 1931 in New Franklin, PA. They moved to Wayne Road in 1951. Mrs. Kaiser died on March 8, 1988. Mr. Kaiser drove truck for eight years for Robert Burkholder. He later worked at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro for three years, for Frank Walker at the Altenwald Elevator Feed Mill for 23 years, and prior to retiring in 1976 he worked at Frick Co., Waynesboro as a supplier for 10 and a half years. Following retirement he helped Tim Butts haul cattle for a number of years. He was a member of Solomon's United Church of Christ, Chambersburg, where he served as Elder and Deacon of the church for a number of years. He was a member of General James Chambers Lodge #801 Free and Accepted Masons, Chambersburg, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1974. He was also a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Lodge #145, Shippensburg, PA, the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows Columbus Lodge #75, Chambersburg, where he served as Noble Grand, the Chambersburg Senior Center, and the National AARP. Mr. Kaiser enjoyed hunting for many years. He is survived by one daughter, Faye K. Rosenberry of Chambersburg; one son, C. Wyatt Kaiser of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Kaiser was the last of his immediate family. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Henry, Naomi Ness, and Cleo Smith; one infant sister, Stella Kaiser; and four brothers, Lawrence Kaiser, Sr., Eugene Kaiser, Paul Kaiser, Sr., and Harry Kaiser. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 26, 2004 in Solomon's United Church of Christ, 1594 Swamp Fox Road, Chambersburg, with Rev. Peter E. Emig officiating. Burial will be in Grindstone Hill Cemetery, Guilford Township. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday evening in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro where a Masonic Service will be preformed by the members of General James Chambers Lodge #801 Free and Accepted Masons at 8:00 P.M.
